What is Microneedling?
Known as the non-surgical facelift, microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production in the skin. The treatment involves a specialized pen, Rejuvapen, containing a cartridge with small microneedles that break up scarring, tighten skin, improve skin tone, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
How Does Microneedling Work?
Microneedling, or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), at Total Implants & Periodontics® targets collagen and elastin by using tiny microneedles to create micro-wounds. Our medical-grade device provides greater precision and less abrasion compared to other devices, which may tear the skin. We also offer the option of combining microneedling with stem cell platelet-rich plasma (PRP) application during and after the treatment. What to Expect During Your Microneedling Sessions
Microneedling sessions last about an hour. We recommend four treatments spaced four weeks apart for the best results. Before each session, a mild numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort. After the treatment, you may experience minor redness, skin tightness, soreness, and swelling, similar to a sunburn, which should not last longer than a few days.
