Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

What are medical-grade chemical peels?

Chemical peels can be very effective for smoothing lines and removing skin imperfections. They can provide significant improvement without the downtime of a surgical procedure.

In a peel treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin to penetrate the top layers and allow dead and dull skin to be removed.

Medium depth chemical peels address a range of skin concerns including: Hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, as well as acne. After treatment a proper self care routine is required. Before treatment, a consultation is required.

What To Expect During Treatment.

During your initial appointment, our medical provider will evaluate your skin to see if you’re a candidate for a peel, and then discuss with you what to expect from the treatment. Once you’ve decided that a peel is the right course of action, we’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan.

The treatment typically takes about half an hour. A customized chemical solution, tailored to your skin, is applied to the face. Typically, a mild tingling sensation is experienced during the procedure. The peel solution works its way into the skin, and after a set amount of time, is neutralized. To soothe the skin and to promote healing, a serum specially selected for your skin is applied. Compounds in the serum also stimulate the production of collagen, to give you fresher, more youthful looking skin.

Immediately after the treatment, you’ll have some redness and minor swelling, but these will go away in a day or so.

Peels may be done in combinations with other treatments like dermaplaning or microneedling to enhance results.
